June 12th 1994
The Silver Blades spend several weeks recovering from their recent ordeals in Berdusk. Talesian spends much of that time training.
Once everyone has recovered they agree to undertake a mission to locate a long lost dragon horde in the Great Desert. As they are leaving Berdusk they are attacked by several banesman warriors and priests but the Silver Blades are once again victorious. During the battle a paladin comes to the Silver Blades aid and once formally introduced he agrees to join them.
The Silver Blades make it to Iriabor, their only encounter being with 5 wyverns who are killed or driven off.
June 19th 1994
The party makes it to the Great Desert. One evening they are attacked by a large group of orcs and their camels, horses and provisions are stolen before the party can drive off the raiders.
A couple of days later they become hopelessly lost and provisions begin to run low. They decide to retreat and eventually make it back to the goblin marches and relative safety.
While marching though the goblin infested badlands the Silver Blades are attacked by an efreet. Valamar is picked up by the elemental creature then dropped from 200 feet- bye, bye paladin. The efreet is eventually driven off the paladin’s remains buried.
A few days late 12 trolls burst out of a gully to attack. The trolls are killed but not before Eron loses an ear to a critical swipe. Ouch!
June 26th: The Ruined Tower
The Silver Blades stumble across an old ruined tower in the heart of the Goblin Marches. They kill two owlbears lairing in the courtyard then dispatch 6 shadows that were lurking in the stables.
Shortly thereafter a spectre attacks but is slain by magic missiles and burning hands spells before it can do any harm.
The Silver Blades turn their attention to the upper ruins and explore them without incident. They rest up in the stables whilst unknown to them a vampire marshals the rest of his troops- before attacking.
Lexar webs the skeletons and 2 mummies while the vampire is defeated by a lightning bolt that rebounds off a wall to strike him a second time.
The skeletons are destroyed and the party heads down into the cellars to find the vampire before he can regenerate from the wounds inflicted. They soon find his coffin and kill the creature. In a nearby room is a strange portal which Ogre steps through. The others stop and search the vampires lair for treasure.
They find the cache hidden in a nearby room- a longsword +3, frostband, a wand of fire, 2 ioun stones, potions of invisibility, extra-healing and speed, 10,000 gp in assorted gems, a 1,000 gp crown, 2,000 gp and 1,000 gp. Satisfied that they’d found all the loot they too stepped through the portal and find themselves in Candalfeor.
