Adventure: Against Geildarr

Adventurers: Gilfronden, Aldor, Murwood, Peregrin
Aldor and Peregrin go up levels then the Wolfsheads fly to the
pirate city of Scrape where they have some unfinished business
with the ruler, Geildarr.
But first they decide to find the remains of Tim, one of the
original Wolfsheads, who was killed in Scrape several years
earlier. Gilfronden manages to scry the remains of Tim,
which lie in trapped in the river that flows through Scrape.
Aldor then uses locate object to recover as many of Tims
bones as possible. The remains are taken back to the temple and
the Wolfsheads using powerful mgicks Tim is brought back to life.
Several days later the Wolfsheads assault Geildarrs stronghold. Using fly and invisibility spells they reach the roof of the fortress and Gilfronden and Murwood dispatch the ogre sentries. But not before one of them raises the alarm. The Wolfsheads then head down into the fortress but are injured by a fireball trap on the entry door. Peregrin then begins to remove a trap on the next door.
Meanwhile guards are beginning to assemble near the fortress
so Gilfronden engages them with missile fire. A score of archers
reply and Gilfronden is forced to take cover.
Six warriors then burst through the door that Peregrin is trying
to open and a battle begins. The warriors are soon reinforced by
Geildarr, Shantra, Yorin (a cloned version), several ogres and
ogre magi. Peregrin is held . Aldor attacks Shantra and
manages to slay her. Murwood and Tim make short work of the
guards. Aldor silences Geildarr and he is forced to flee.
Yorin also tries to make a break for it but is cut down and
killed. The ogre magi drop two cone of colds which kill
Gilfronden and Perergrin. They are then slain by Murwood and
Aldor. Murwood changes form to that of a hawk and goes and
retrieves the flying boat which he uses to rescue his comrades.
Back at the castle Gilfronden and Peregrin are regenerated back
to life.
After resting up for several days Aldor, Tim and Murwood decide to once again assault Geildarr’s fortress. They fly in and while still invisible, stone shape into Geildarr’s bedroom but he isn’t there. They then explore the upper level of the fortress and manage to set off several spell traps before the guards are alerted. A patrol arrives but are quickly overcome by the Wolfsheads who then head down to the lowerr level where they encounter Geildarr and his bodyguard.
A battle follows in which the guards are killed and Geildarr is once again forced to teleport to safety. The fortress is now surrounded by pirates so the Wolfsheads escape via the roof but not before destroying the fortress by using a rock to mud on the walls. Geildarr isn’t happy.
That night Geildarr flies up to the castle and rock to muds one of the towers. The Wolfsheads then decide to flee southward to Tethyr before any more damage can be done by the vengeful Geildarr.
A couple of days later the party reaches Zassapur in Tethyr and spend several days determining the local political situation (Murwood is looking to start to reclaim his kingdom). They learn that there is a small underground movement who are hoping to restore the monarchy but that most people are opposed to the idea. At present Murwood is hoping to make contact with the royalists but needs to carry out further investigations.
Meanwhile Aldor has gone to the local Church of Tempus and discovered that he is not welcome, in fact he has been excommunicated and branded a heretic by the church hierarchy! Apparently a cult calling themselves the Followers of Aldor has sprung up and all members of the sect (including their leader) have been excommunicated. The cultists believe that Aldor is the chosen one (because he wielded the Sword of Tempus) and that the sword should be returned to him so that he can carry on the will of Tempus. The Church hierarchy (and prominent rulers of the North) hotly dispute this (mainly because they do not want a horde of warriors overrunning the North, so Aldor has been thrown out of the Church.
At this point the campaign ended as I moved to Japan. But I'm sure we'll hear morre form the Wolfsheads in the future...
